The limits of my language mean the limits of my world

Everyone has an incomplete view of the world, but we form stories to fill in the gaps. We create stories, both fiction and non-fiction, to make sense of the world. Story is a medium to express our understanding of the world, and make sense of it. It’s what separates us from other animals.

Language is our tool for crafting these stories. A quote close to my heart is: “the limits of my language mean the limits of my world” (Ludwig Wittgenstein). The mastery of language is arguably the most important skill you can possess. Once honed, it enables you to weave compelling narratives that can inspire and move people.
